A small team headed off to Hanbury Show, but what they lacked in number they more than made up for in quality, with Southdown flock ewe, Chaileybrook Killer Queen (22/01377), backing up her earlier successes to take the red ticket in her class, followed by the breed championship and then the interbreed championship from an entry of more than 500 sheep.

Across four shows this season this outstanding ewe by Chaileybrook Beaujolais and out of the infamous 15/0010 ewe, herself a Sarkozy daughter, Killer Queen has picked up first every time, a trio of breed championships along with two interbreed titles and a reserve interbreed championship too.
The rest of the Hanbury team backed up well too, with shearling ram Chaileybrook 24/02137 taking first in his class on his only outing this season. He’s by Chaileybrook The Stag and out of Chaileybrook 14/00044, a daughter of The Frog. Also collecting a red ticket was gimmer Chaileybrook 24/02122. This Stag daughter is out of a Beaujolais-sired dam.
Then in the ram lambs Chaileybrook 25/02567 stood second, with this one being a Dartagnan son and ewe lamb Chaileybrook 24/02563 was fourth in her class. The shearling ram, gimmer and ewe lamb then took second in the group of three.
