Last weekend’s Hanbury Show proved another successful outing for the show team, with our Southdown shearling ram Chaileybrook 17/0049 taking the breed championship and third spot in a closely fought interbreed competition.

This shearling, on his first outing of the season, is a son of Macron out of a dam by The Frog which is a full sister to our former stock sire Tadpole and also a number of show winning females.

Indeed it was one of these females, Chaileybrook 14/0044 which followed on to take the reserve breed championship having stood first in her class. This three crop ewe is by The Frog and out of Chaileybrook 05/0002, dam of numerous show and sale toppers.

In the same class as the ewe our gimmer, Chaileybrook 17/0015, stood third, with this one being a Tadpole daughter out of our Golden Valley ewe.

In the lamb classes both our ram lamb and ewe lamb collected third prize tickets in strong classes.

Meanwhile, in the Blue Texel classes Sophie’s aged ram Cookie Monster took first in his class, with aged ewe Speckles taking a third in her class.
