A quick turnaround after Royal Three Counties saw the show team head off to Lincolnshire Show for the 2023 Southdown National Show, with a couple of Blue Texels along for the ride.

In the Southdowns our outstanding pair of ewe lambs were the star performers, winning their class and then going on to claim the reserve interbreed pair of ewe lambs title.

These were the same lambs which just a few days earlier had stood first and second in there class at Royal Three Counties, Chaileybrook 23/01772 and Chaileybrook 23/01761.

Also picking up a red ticket was ram lamb Chaileybrook 23/01753, with this lamb being tapped out as reserve male champion on the day too. Meanwhile, Sophie’s ram lamb, Littlebrook 23/01802 ‘Eddie The Eagle’ was second in the class.

Senior stock ram Chaileybrook Beaujolais stood fourth in a strong class, with Chaileybrook 22/01372 ‘The Stig’ standing fifth in a huge shearling ram class.

And the two Blue Texels made sure they weren’t left out either with junior stock tup Severn View G I Joe taking first in his class and going on to be male and breed champion, while Littlebrook Gizzy stood second in a class of 15 gimmers, being the highest placed Blue Texel gimmer.
