This year’s Royal Three Counties Show was another outstanding few days for the flocks, with both breed and interbreed success. The highlight undoubtedly being the Southdown pair of lambs, ram lamb Chaileybrook 24/02116 and ewe lamb Chaileybrook 24/02120 being tapped out as reserve champion terminal sire pair and then reserve overall interbreed pair from more than 40 breeds on show.

Both of these lambs had won their individual classes before coming to together to take the pairs title in the breed on the first day of the show. Ram lamb Chaileybrook 24/02116 is a son of Chaileybrook The Stag out of Chaileybrook 20/00706, herself a Dartagnan daughter which also won her class as an aged ewe.

The ewe lamb, Chaileybrook 24/02120 is another by Chaileybrook The Stag and this time out of a Chaileybrook 19/00560-sired dam.

Second spot in the ram lambs was taken by Chaileybrook 24/02115, a son of Chaileybrook 22/01372 out of a dam by Chaileybrook Beaujolais, while third went to Sophie’s ram lamb, Littlebrook Freddie The Frog, a Dartagnan son.

In the ewe lambs, Sophie’s lamb, Littlebrook 24/02094, stood third. She’s by Chaileybrook 23/01755 and out of a dam by Percheron.

Taking top spot in the gimmers was Sophie’s Littlebrook 23/01812, a Dartagnan daughter, while Chaileybrook 23/01761, a daughter of Chaileybrook 22/01372, stood second.

Overall champion was ewe lamb, Chaileybrook 24/02120, while reserve female champion was Littlebrook 23/01812 and reserve male champion was Chaileybrook 24/02116. Completing a quartet for Chaileybrook and Littlebrook breeding was the male champion, aged ram Chaileybrook 20/0669 shown by Emily Yates.

The three Chaileybrook lambs then picked up first in both the group of three lambs class and the open group of three class.

Results were also strong in the hotly contested Blue Texel classes which formed the English National Show. Leading the way was ewe lamb Littlebrook 24/02069, a Severn View G I Joe daughter which stood fourth in a class of 25, while pen mate Littlebrook 24/0068 picked up ninth in the same class.

Standing fifth in the aged ewes was Littlebrook Flo, a Littlebrook Brucie Bonus daughter, while in the gimmers Littlebrook Howdoyoulikemenow picked up eighth in another 20+ entry. She’s by Beaconsview Flash Harry.

And in the ram lambs, Littlebrook 24/02072 was ninth in a class of 29. He’s another by Severn View G I Joe. The three lambs then stood fourth in the group of three lambs class, while Littlebrook 24/02072 and Littlebrook 24/02069 were third in the pairs class and the three lambs were then third in the open group of three class.
