Chaileybrook His Nibs fulfilled his promise when he topped the Southdown Premier Sale, Worcester, setting a new 2000gns breed ram lamb record along the way.
His Nibs, by Chaileybrook The Stag, had been male and reserve overall champion in the pre-sale show, backing up his unbeaten run at summer shows this year, including being male and reserve overall champion at the Society’s National Show and being reserve interbreed pairs champion at Royal Three Counties Show.
He sold to Scarlett Hale for her Sacombe flock, Hertfordshire, with a half share retained by ourselves for our own flocks.
Second best of our ram lambs was Sophie’s Littlebrook Fernandez, a son of Chaileybrook 23/01755 out of a Macron daughter. He sold at 700gns to join Goodwood Estate’s Goodwood flock.
We then sold two at 500gns, with the first being Chaileybrook 24/02115, a son of Chaileybrook The Stig out of a dam by Chaileybrook Beaujolais. This one sold to Roger and Tom Elliot, Northants.
The other at this price was Littlebrook Freddy The Frog, a Dartagnan son out of a dam by Chaileybrook Beaujolais and a full brother to last year’s 1200gns Littlebrook Eddie The Eagle. He was bought by Emily Yates, Fulfen.
And wrapping things up at 350gns was Chaileybrook 24/02112, a son of last year’s Worcester male champion Calley Castle Firestarter. He’s out of a dam by Percheron and was bought by Jess Stanger for her Meadow flock.
