Southdown flock ewe Chaileybrook Killer Queen (22/01377) was the toast of the Royal Three Counties Show when she scooped not only the female and breed championships, but also the terminal sire interbreed and overall interbreed championships too among the largest entry of sheep at an English Show.

Sired by the homebred Chaileybrook Beaujolais and out of the infamous Chaileybrook 15/0010, herself twice a breed champion at Royal Three Counties, Killer Queen clinched the flocks eighth successive breed championship at the event and was picked out by interbreed judge William Carson, Northern Ireland, for her exceptional fleshing and correctness allied with character and show ring sparkle.

Previously reserve interbreed champion at North Somerset Show in early May, this was just her second outing of the season and marked a second interbreed title at Royal Three Counties for the flock, following on from her great grandfather, Percheron in 2018.

Adding to the spoils in the Southdown classes were senior ram Chaileybrook Diablo and shearling ram Chaileybrook His Nibs, both of whom took first prize tickets too, with Diablo going on to be male champion and reserve breed champion and Hi Nibs collected the reserve male championship.

Ewe lamb, Chaileybrook 25/02563, a Calley Castle Firestarter daughter was also first, with shearling ewe Chailebrook 24/02118, a full sister to His Nibs standing second and ram lamb Chaileybrook 25/02567 taking third in his class.

Sophie’s Littlebrook flock also took top tickets, winning the group of three lambs class with ram lambs Littlebrook Gangster Rap and Littlebrook 25/02485 and ewe lamb Littlebrook 25/02494.

Strong competition in the Blue Texels saw a fourth prize in the group of three class and a seventh place for senior ewe Littlebrook Fizzy.
